Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is recommended by National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) for the treatment of a wide range of psychological difficulties including:

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychological treatment which has been shown to be beneficial in alleviating distress associated with traumatic memories.  These include road traffic accidents, workplace accidents and other distressing life events.  It is recommended by National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) for the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  Recent research has also suggested the benefits of using EMDR in treating:

  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Depression
  • Phobias 
  • Grief 

Parenting Support

Having trained and faciliated parenting groups, including The Incredible Years group program, these skills are utilised to work in collaboration with parents to learn effective strategies in managing challenging behaviours and to build stronger relationships with their children.

Menopause

During this time when there is physical and emotional change, this can impact on a persons functioning.  By exploring new coping strategies to manage symptoms, challenging negative thoughts, addressing mood and anxiety, therapy can support overall well-being and quality of life.
